madison's premier outdoor music venue, concerts are held on the terrace when the weather is warm and the skies are clear; this usually lasts from the end of april to the end of september. if weather conditions prevent a concert from taking place outdoors, the show takes place in der rathskeller. all shows on the terrace are free and all ages, and a wide variety of food and alcoholic beverages are offered in facilities throughout the memorial union, including outdoor beer and brat stands.

the barrymore

founded in 2004 in downtown madison, the high noon saloon is a live music venue that caters to many different styles of music, including rock, alternative, metal, indie, alt-country, pop, punk, bluegrass, folk, and blues. hosting large national acts, smaller touring bands from around the world, and lots of local music as well as a wide selection of liquors, beer, and wine, it recently won the madison area music award for best music venue in the city.
